Advocacy

Description

Specially trained individuals in disability regulations, their responsibility is to stay current with the regulations that affect children in an educational setting and to facilitate collaboration and communication between parents/caregivers and school districts. An advocate can attend and guide parents/caregivers during individualized education plan (IEP) meetings and individualized family service plan (IFSP) meetings.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Services

Description

ABA uses the principles of reinforcement and consequences to increase appropriate behaviors; self-care, communication, social skills, and academic skills, as well as, decrease inappropriate behaviors; aggression, self-injury, elopement, and noncompliance. Certified individuals can work 1:1 with the individual, plus train parents, caregivers, teachers, and community members.

Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (BHRS)

Description

BHRS is a home/school/community based service for clients ages 3-21. The service is designed for children who are diagnosed with a mental health, behavioral health, and/or developmental disorder.
BHRS provides a variety of interventions to learn new skills, promote positive behaviors, improve the child's independence and target socialization. Services are provided by Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC), Mobile Therapist (MT), and Therapeutic Support Staff (TSS).

Case Management/Supports Coordinator

Description

Case management / support coordination is provided through a county organization. The services can include providing referrals to other agencies, helping facilitate appropriate services, and monitoring the individual's health. Also providing planned respite care, providing assistance during meetings and providing support for parents/caregivers.

Description

Nursing is a service that can be provided in the home, community, and school. Nursing services provide assistance to activities of daily living, such as; toileting, bathing, and eating. Plus improving leisure skills and assisting with household chores. Parents do not need to be home for nursing services to be provided.

Occupational Therapy

Description

Occupational therapy works on fine, gross, visual, and oral motor skills. It can also focus on teaching self-care skills, motor planning skills, and how to handle emotions. As well as, focus on handwriting, shoe tying, using fasteners, and silverware.

Description

Description
